Business Analysis & Technology Delivery

Where we sit

We're a boutique business analysis consultancy. Brought in to understand processes, map as-is architectures, run gap analysis, and define what change should actually look like — before money gets committed. Then, where it helps, we deliver the build too. One senior lead. Start to finish.

Where are you right now?

Which of these sounds familiar?

"We know we need to modernise. We just don't know where to start — or what we'll break."

The existing system is holding the business back. But it's connected to everything. Before you commit budget and political capital, you need someone who can map what's actually there and what replacing it really means.

As-Is & Discovery

"We're mid-implementation and it's more complex than anyone told us. We need someone who's seen this before."

The supplier is struggling. The scope has grown. Every system touches three others nobody planned for. We know what to stabilise first — and how to get it back on track without starting over.

Rescue & Recovery

"It's live. But the business is working around it rather than with it."

The system went in but the processes never caught up. Adoption is low. People have rebuilt their spreadsheets. The technology wasn't the problem — it's everything that wasn't properly connected around it.

Post-Go-Live Fix

"We're not sure if we need new technology — or just need to fix how we work first."

Not every problem needs a new system. Sometimes the processes are broken, the team isn't aligned, or the operating model doesn't fit anymore. We help you figure out which is which — before anyone spends anything.

Process & Gap Analysis

How we engage

Three ways to work together.

Every engagement is led by a senior consultant. No junior hand-offs. No surprises.

01

Business Analysis & Discovery

"We need someone to actually understand how we work — processes, systems, gaps — before we commit to anything."

As-is process mapping. Architecture understanding. Gap analysis. Operating model review. The deep, structured thinking that should happen before a vendor gets selected or a budget gets approved — and rarely does.

Clarity on what's really there, what's broken, and what change actually requires.

Typical: 4–10 weeks, fixed scope
02

Delivery Partnership

"We need one senior lead accountable from scope to live — not a rotation of juniors and suppliers where nobody owns the whole thing."

We take the engagement end to end. Discovery, scoping, architecture, build, integration, testing, go-live, business readiness. One senior lead accountable start to finish — with trusted specialists brought in where the range requires it, never layered in to pad the day rate.

Something that works. Built right. Live. On your terms.

Programme-dependent
03

Retained Advisory

"We don't need someone full time. But we need senior BA thinking available when something comes up."

A fixed monthly retainer giving you async access to senior BA thinking — scope reviews, sense-checks, challenge on decisions before they go upward. Without the overhead of a full engagement.

Senior thinking available when you need it. No overhead. No surprises.

Monthly rolling

To save us both time

What we don't do.

Team augmentation. We're not a staffing agency. One senior lead, not a pipeline of juniors billed at senior rates.
BAU support. We work on change. Once something is live and stable, we hand it over — we don't camp out.
Licence reselling. We're not partnered with suppliers. You'll never be steered toward a platform because we get a kickback.
Drive-by consulting. We don't parachute in, write a deck, and disappear. One senior lead stays with it to the end.

The honest bit

The gap is almost always the same.

"Changing what already exists is harder than building something new. Every system touches three others you didn't think about."
A £500k Salesforce implementation grinds to a halt because nobody connected it to finance. The board wants answers. The budget doubles.
A legacy finance system replacement runs eighteen months over because the data migration was never properly scoped. The old system can't be switched off. Both run in parallel. Costs spiral.

We map what's actually there

Legacy environments are rarely documented properly. We find out what exists, what it connects to, and what replacing or changing it really means — before anyone commits to anything.

We speak business and technology

Most problems happen in the gap between them. We bridge it — translating between what the business needs and what the technology can actually do.

We start with the business — not the solution

Technology is rarely the whole answer. We understand process, people and operating models — so we can tell you honestly whether you need a new system, a better process, or both.

One lead. Always accountable.

Every engagement is led personally by a senior consultant. No hand-offs to junior staff. You always know who's responsible — and who to call.

In their words

"He was the only person in the room willing to ask the questions everyone else had been politely avoiding. Within a fortnight we'd cut the scope to what actually mattered, deferred a piece of work that was never going to land in this phase, and rebuilt the board's confidence in the timeline."

Case study

A multi-market payments & tax build, delivered.

Workplace Services · 2023–2024 · Discovery + Delivery

The situation

An international operation had outgrown the patchwork of payments and tax processes built market-by-market. Every new country added another exception. Reconciliation was manual. Compliance risk was growing faster than headcount could absorb. Leadership wanted a single capability — but no one could describe what "single" actually meant in their context.

What we did

Mapped the as-is across every market — tax treatment, payment routing, vendor flows, system touch points. Defined the target operating model and the data model that had to underpin it. Specified integration requirements across finance, ops and compliance. Coordinated build across internal teams and third-party engineering — one senior lead through every milestone.

The outcome

A single payments and tax capability live across the in-scope markets. Manual reconciliation effort cut materially. Audit-ready reporting in place where reporting had previously been spreadsheet-and-prayer. The team that operates it now sits inside the business — not on a consultancy retainer.

Matt Wilson

Founder & Lead Consultant

16+ years in business analysis and enterprise delivery — across financial services, payments, ERP, retail and technology. The work that sits between the business and the build: process and gap analysis, as-is architecture mapping, scope definition, and accountability through to live.

Senior BA and delivery roles across global financial services, professional services, payments and engineering organisations. Co-founder of Clooper, a B2B business travel and accommodation platform — taken from concept to revenue-generating product. That experience is why Analysethat exists: most consultancies stop at the deck. The difference here is one senior lead through every phase, including the build.

I started Analysethat because the most expensive failures I've seen on enterprise programmes aren't technical — they're failures of clarity. Someone senior in the room asking the questions nobody else wants to ask. That's the work.

About

Analysethat Ltd

Analysethat is a boutique business analysis consultancy for organisations who need someone that understands both sides — how the business works, and the technology that's supposed to support it.

We're brought in for the work that should happen before anyone starts building: process and gap analysis, as-is architecture mapping, operating model design, scope definition. Then, where it helps, we stay through delivery — with one senior lead accountable from first conversation to go-live.

With over 16 years working across financial services, payments, ERP, and enterprise technology — and having built a live platform from scratch — we understand both the legacy world and what good looks like on the other side of it.

We work with a small number of clients at any one time. That's deliberate — complex engagements need genuine attention, not a team stretched across twenty accounts.

Questions we usually get.

How does pricing work?

Business Analysis & Discovery is a fixed fee agreed up front, scoped to what's actually needed. Delivery Partnership is a day rate against a minimum commitment, sized to the programme. Retained Advisory is a flat monthly fee on a 30-day rolling basis. Whatever the engagement, the price is agreed and written down before any work begins — no retrospective change orders, no surprise extras. We'll quote on a first call once we understand what you're dealing with.

Do you work alongside our existing suppliers?

Yes — that's frequently the reason we're brought in. We're not a delivery firm competing with your suppliers for build work; we're the senior analysis and accountability layer that sits between you and the people building. Most engagements involve coordinating across one or more third-party suppliers, internal IT, finance, compliance and ops. If anything, suppliers tend to deliver better when there's a clear, senior client-side voice in the room.

What don't you do?

We don't do BAU support — we work on change, not steady-state ops. We're not a staffing agency, so you won't be billed senior rates for junior work. We don't resell licences or push you toward platforms we're partnered with. And we don't parachute in, write a deck, and vanish. If you need seats, ongoing managed services, or a team of subcontractors to park somewhere, we're not it — and we'll say so up front.

Can we speak to a past client?

Yes — once we've agreed an engagement is likely to proceed. References aren't handed out at first contact, both out of respect for client confidentiality and because a reference call is more useful when there's something specific to ask. We'll connect you with someone whose engagement most closely resembles yours.

How quickly can you start?

Typically two to four weeks from a signed engagement. We work with a deliberately small number of clients at any one time — if we can't start when you need us, we'll say so on the first call rather than slot you into a queue.

Will you sign an NDA?

Yes — as standard. Happy to sign yours, or provide ours. NDAs are signed before any substantive conversation about your specific situation, so you can speak freely about names, numbers and what's actually going on.

Are you UK-based? Do you work outside the UK?

UK-based, working with UK and international organisations. Most engagements are remote-first with on-site time at the points where it adds real value — workshops, key stakeholder sessions, go-live. Distance has rarely been the constraint; senior attention has.
